October
29th, 2009:
Welcome to cop@rt
Despite all efforts to package and
promote art as transferable commodities in a globalised world where all
information is readily understood on the receiving and the producing side
and where content management systems take care of most things, we are really
thankful that the simple act of meeting and greeting colleagues and the
simple act of meeting artists face to face still has some relevance.
So welcome to a city which is soon
to be at the centre of world attention when COP15 takes centre stage in
a few weeks.
And whilst you will be fretting over
misused opportunities, misunderstood demonstrations and misguided politicians
after the official summit, you will look back at these three days with
a sense of glowing inner warmth where you decided to support, renew and
indeed even change the threatened artistic climate of our theatres and
festivals by inviting some sustainable energy from Copenhagen to your city
and so help the natural flow of ideas, morals and experiences which still
fuel our imagination and our future.
So put on your woollies and let us
warm you for a few days with our completely CO2 neutral mind set.
Welcome to cop@rt
